1978 National Environmental Policy ActThis policy act must be done before any project under the Environmental Impact Statements. This effects the federal lands so that it can be started. The study of Federal Projects Affecting Environment must be filed for "major" federal actions since only paperwork and research needs to be done with no other activities being mandated

1980 Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation ActThis conservation act provided 43,585,000 acres of new national park lands in Alaska with 53,720,000 acres to the National Wildlife Refuge System.This included 25 wild and scenic rivers.

1982 Nuclear Waste Policy ActThe United States government must develop a high level of nuclear waste site by 2015 to establish a comprehensive national program for the safe. This makes a permanent disposal of high radioactive waste. Nuclear waste come from the production of nuclear weapons. The act also wants to establish a permanent, underground repository for high level radioactive waste.
